Re: FH serial number registry Thanks Greg, I did and internet search and according to Briggs and Stratton records number 26436 was the last brass carburetor FH. My engine is well above that number. Its possible that it had a pot metal carb originally and I would like actual serial numbers to see if I can figure it out.

I just got a yard machines by MTD 42" 17HP twin Briggs & Stratton engine riding lawn mower. It is an automatic transaxle and says it is manufactured to be used with fast attach accessories. The model/serial number sticker has fallen off below the seat. Is this information anywhere else on the tractor? It also says 17LT on the hood. Thanks, Scott

This is my first post. When I read the " briggs and stratton 18 hp twin II fuel starving? " and The Tractor Forum will be able to help. I bought a junkyard 18 HP B&S opposed twin, which came out of a Dynamark 18/43. The engine doesn't seem to have a model number on it. I checked with B&S and the best thought is the cover over the flywheel had it.
